I discovered the album later, but ‘Day-O’ was really important for me as a kid, because I was a dancer; I’d been doing ballet since I was six-years-old. I remember when my teacher wanted us to have fun and relax, she would put ‘Day-O’ on and we’d do a choreography to that. I vividly remember thinking, ‘What the hell is this?’ It was very similar to the Latin American music I was listening to. It has this character that’s almost like exotica; it’s mysterious, almost hellish. It was so wonderful. But then I grew up loving the album, and actually my favourite track is ‘I Do Adore Her’. I think it’s such a perfect piece.
