Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

12. AC DCPowerage

A bit of a strange one, I suppose, but I grew up on AC/DC. This one in particular, the guitar sound just seems really abrasive and edgy, I think they just got in there and recorded it in one take. It’s a great selection of songs, and you have to love Bon Scott really, I think he’s just a great frontman and he really sang from his heart, about the stuff going on in his world. I hate the word ‘formula’ in some ways, but you know, they’re a band that do what they do, and that’s it. I think they’ve managed to, mostly, do records that tick all the boxes, and that’s something to admire for me. But yeah, that particular album was a personal favourite of mine growing up.
