8. Grace JonesLiving My Life

Even when I was a child, I thought she was just the most amazing person. When I saw her on TV as a kid, the way people were with her was so strange, but she never got put off by it, she remained being herself. I used to have a picture of her on my wall and kiss it before I went to bed – it wasn’t anything sexual, I just thought she was the best person ever. When I got a drumkit, I also got a Grace Jones album for my birthday and used to play along when I started playing drums. 

I played on her track ‘Original Beast’ for the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. It was one of those moments I never thought would happen in my life. We had dinner together, and she was just this wonderful person.
