I think Dave Lombardo is an absolute genius – his drumming has been very influential on me. I don’t understand how he doesn’t have publishing on those songs, because everybody knows his drum parts for those songs. He’s added so much to the music world. Coming from a Cuban background, he’s coming from a completely different place in that music, so all his fills and beats are so unique when they mix with Slayer’s riffs. I’ve never crossed paths with him, but that guy means so much to me.
