My comfort album. It reminds me of my mum, who was really into Bill Evans. She used to play me jazz when I was younger, and go “what’s that drummer doing?” She made me do a lot of nuanced listening from an early age. She taught me to do that. As a kid I couldn’t really understand it. But when I started playing jazz, I’d heard it so much I felt like I knew it very deeply.
