Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

1. WarpaintWarpaint

Rosa Walton: We first got into them when we saw them at Iceland Airwaves. I think when you see a band live before you’ve heard them recorded it really improves your connection.

Jenny Hollingworth: We’ve seen them three times actually, I think – they’re always amazing.

RW: Stella Mozgawa is such a good drummer. What I love about Warpaint is that every member is of equal importance.

JH: On the album, the drums and bass are mixed as lead instruments and they’re two of the best aspects of the record as well. I find that interesting because bands usually emphasise the guitar and vocal lines. And I know a lot of groups do that kind of thing.

RW: But they do it better.
