He would have been one of my earliest introductions to synths – he blew my mind. My nan had a distribution network up in the market, and the traders used to play his music a lot, especially ‘Atomic Bomb’ and ‘Fantastic Man’. A few years ago when this record was released, I heard ‘Atomic Bomb’ on the radio and it took me back to being out in the markets, seeing the traders dancing to this song. I was really happy, because he’d gone silent for many years and nobody knew what had happened to him, but his music was still in circulation. He was way ahead of his time.
