It’s the album that proves keyboards and a drum machine can rock as hard and be as disturbing as any rock & roll group. Alan Vega has this incredible raw quality to his voice, I love the New York-ness of it, and how it veers from really beautiful songs like ‘Cheree’ to ‘Frankie Teardrop’. They’re one of those bands who invented the future.
