10. Pauline OliverosBye Bye Butterfly

I’ve worked with a number of musicians who played with her, and there’s a lot of her electronic works that I think are fantastic. The way she’s working with the Puccini sample here is, for me, an amazing way of appreciating Puccini in a new light. It made me think about how we consider melody and harmony, and all the extraneous musical elements that come along with how we treat these samples and work with them. She did it in such a beautiful, elegant way.
