The Red Hot Chili Peppers have started work on their new album.
Drummer Chad Smith revealed that the band had began writing songs for the follow up to 2006’s Stadium Arcadium, which is due to be released next year.
He told Clash magazine: "We’re gonna write for a while, it usually takes us a while.”
He also hinted at a slight shift in musical direction, adding: “We’ve got songs with piano on them right now."
