!!! drummer Jerry Fuchs has died after attempting to jump from a lift.
Fuchs, who was 34, was at a fundraising event in Williamsburg, New York at approximately 12:30am this morning when a lift he was in got stuck, with a spokesperson for the buildings department in New York telling the New York Post: "It’s a manual freight elevator, and it stopped somewhere above the fifth floor."
Fuchs and a friend are thought to have tried to jump the three or four feet down to the fifth floor but, while Fuchs’s friend made the descent safely, an item of Fuchs’s clothing got stuck in the elevator. He was yanked backwards as he jumped and fell into the crevice separating the elevator and the fifth floor.
He fell to the bottom of the lift shaft and was taken to hospital where he died at 3:30am this morning.
