The shy and retiring Amy Winehouse will release a new album next year, according to her record company.
Island Records co-president Darcus Beese confirmed that the singer had started work on her third album in "fits and starts", and that a release was expected in 2010.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: "I’ve heard a couple of song demos that absolutely floored me. Hopefully we’ll have her album next year."
