7. Aphex TwinDrukqs

I never fell in love with standard dance music. I always loved stuff that was of the ilk, but not exactly. People like Aphex Twin or more recently Jon Hopkins or James Holden. They make dance music, but it’s an insular experience. The Druqks record, it was melding these beautiful worlds of composition with dance music and this experimentation that I had never heard before listening to it. 

I love the idea of club music, but I didn’t really enjoy listening to most of it outside of the club, so that record was perfect for me. You know what I was saying about having this space present in the composition? There’s a lot of that, it’s very beautiful to me.
