3. Lone RangerM16

I didn’t cotton on to Lone Ranger until the early 90s. It’s similar to the Yellowman album in a lot of ways. The basslines are similar and the musicians are the same people. What I’ve always loved about reggae is its ad hoc nature and this album certainly has that lyrically. He has a stoned collage of lyrics that wouldn’t really fit on any other album or be appropriate to any other artist. We always used to listen to this in the car and my kids would sing along to it, especially ‘Natty Burial’ and ‘Natty Sat Upon A Rock’. His introductions are great. The artwork is top notch as well. That cartoon style artwork. That’s usually a pointer that a reggae album is going to be great.
