1. Butterfly

I only discovered this last year via some weird internet wormhole about psychedelic pop. This album from 1967 called Butterfly popped up, most of it wasn’t that interesting but for some reason this song really jumped out at me and I became a bit obsessed. It’s a hidden psychedelic pop banger. On a certain level, it’s just a regular 60s pop song, but there’s something so weird about it, it’s so woozy, so druggy. I keep sending it to people and just annoy people, ‘Check this out! Check this out!’ It’s got this really psychedelic production where the levels are really odd and there’s a really bizarre short echo on his voice. Psychedelia runs through these choices. You could say that all of them are a type of psychedelic music. I think more recently I’ve been interested in what psychedelic music is, and I’ve realised that it’s much wider than I maybe first thought it was.
