2. Siouxsie And The BansheesTinderbox

Again, this was through my brother and it was Tinderbox that was blasting through the bedroom walls, and I just fell in love with it and with Siouxsie. She’s obviously a very iconic woman anyway, but she was the second female singer that that really cemented the fact that I wanted to sing. I always knew from a really young age that I wanted to be in a band; that’s all I ever wanted to do. I was that person that stood in front of the mirror pretending there was an audience and all this stuff – that was me! That was me!

My first female singing love was Grace Jones when I was about 12; again, another really strong character. And then it was Siouxsie, and both of those have endured today. I still love both of those artists.

I know she hated the referencing of goth; really hated it and probably still hates it. But you know, but she was seminal for a lot of people. That’s great record and ‘92°’ is my favourite song on the album.
