9. Kathryn JosephFor You Who Are Wronged

I became aware of Kathryn through Stuart Braithwaite from Mogwai. A lot of my choices here are about the voice. Different people in Slowdive listen to different aspects of songs, and voices are very important to me. Kathryn’s voice is out there; it’s very different. I’m not gonna say she’s like Liz Fraser, but Kathryn’s got very unique voice. And I think this record is just really, really beautiful.
