Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

10. YelloYou Gotta Say Yes To Another Excess

Musically the mid eighties was a depressing time with a few exceptions and this album was one of them. It was played on the Night Time tour bus all the time. There was always one record that the band gravitated towards.

Geordie drew our attention to this one. I lived in Switzerland at the time, and the Yello guys were just amazing. They would spend two or three years just getting their production right. This is the ultimate in eighties production, you couldn’t get a more detailed eighties production than this. It was done in a really wacko way.
