12. Radiohead – Kid A

They took a really risky, brave move and basically changed the rulebook with what they were doing. I also think sonically it is a really beautiful record, the way they embrace electronic culture, and the way they were taking what they were doing into a different place. It’s very influential in that way. It’s brave to do something like that when everyone expected them to do another OK Computer or The Bends.

When I first heard it, it was a bit like ‘Really? Fuck’. ‘Everything In Its Right Place’ was just mind blowing. I like electronic and eclectic music so the fact that they introduced all of these elements, and combining what they were doing as traditional bands with everything that was going on around them, was what a band should do.
