Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

I once received a bunch of old vinyl records from my grandfather and his siblings’ collections, and this was one of them. There were so many different genres, from ABBA and Ramones to Black Sabbath, but this one was somehow exactly the kind of music I wanted. A weird kind of electric disco-funk album. There was something special in it, some spacey sounds and then funny lyrics, especially ‘Video Freak’. It’s so abstract, the lyrics just go ‘Video freak! Defend it!’ It somehow just seemed kind of nerdy. In a good way.
