10. Colin BlunstoneOne Year

I think Lewis [Evans], who plays sax in Black Country showed me Colin Blunstone, although I’d heard [Blunstone’s band] The Zombies before. He fits into that songwriter world of Randy Newman and Biff Rose, except slightly more orchestrally accomplished. The orchestration is incredibly ambitious. He’s got the most beautiful voice. This is another one of those that does not inspire me. It’s in a similar god tier to Frank Ocean. I can’t sing like him, and my brain doesn’t work like that. But thank you, Colin!

I also associate this one a lot with flying, because when I’m traveling a lot, I often get my alone time by putting my headphones on. So this record makes me feel like I’m in the sky or walking onto an airplane. I can smell that smell, the oxygen smell that you get when you go on a plane. It’s a quite weird feeling, actually.
