3. Sugar MinottLive Loving

A classic reggae album by the late great Sugar Minott, I can’t recall how this album came into my possession or how I found it, but it’s an album I played every day – and I mean every day, back when I was sent to borstal, after losing my way as a youth. I played Gloria Gaynor nearly as much, but I listened to Live Loving with the song ‘A House Is Not a Home’ in particular.

Listening to it for the first time, I thought it was the original at that age. But it was actually a cover as I later discovered. It got me through the hard times to be honest. The healing powers of music are under estimated. It’s not just an art form, it’s a science!
