9. Throbbing Gristle20 Jazz Funk Greats

I think it’s a great representation of being a superstar band, really, a band that never compromised anything and have so much to show for it. They never took the money. It just seems like a mind-child, one of a kind. I first heard it in my freshman year at college. I had it on my headphones, I was walking to class and it was -10 degrees and I was trying not to slip on the ice. I looked up and saw this huge dormitory that they’ve forced people to live in for their first year. It was being demolished but they’d only taken one side off, you could see all the little rooms and what everyone had chosen to decorate their room in. There was like a yellow vase with some flowers and matching curtains, and just like, everything else torn to shreds. There’s something about that, paired with that music and my hate for authority and my dislike for where I was in life. I just still think it’s still kind of a façade. That moment is with me forever.
