It’s a classic album. I love the cover design. For me, it was American rock music in its best form. The chords and sensibility are everything I like about American guitar music because it’s not too designed. It’s cleverly done and it’s a sound I can totally trust. It’s totally timeless and it’s one record I return to from my collection from year to year.

When I started to be exposed to music as a teenager, the big sound from British guitar music was new wave and I was very interested in that. Some time after that, the big sound across Europe was grunge, emerging from Seattle. I wasn’t so interested in that scene except this album, because they did everything right here. It wasn’t super traditional in a rock music sense, with a circus around it.
