There’s been a bit of dispute this week over Depeche Mode singer Dave Gahan’s parting words to the crowd at a live concert in Peru.
Reports from several sites suggested that Gahan had mistakenly said "Thank you very much, Chile!" at the end of the show – a blunder that would have been made all the worse as the South American neighbours were embroiled in war from 1879-84.
But Depeche Mode webmaster Daniel Barassi claimed that Gahan had actually said "Thank you very much, good night!" – which he says at the end of every show.
