What do we British get on our telly as a ‘highlight’ of our nation’s Festivals? Ray Davies live at Glastonbury, or the endless torrent of bottom squirt that is V or T on the box. Our French cousins across the English pond are far more fortunate, for they have a direct transmission of something as wonderful as this set of Liars at this past weekend’s La Route Du Rock festival. As our experience at Standon Calling last weekend and this prove, Liars seem to be hitting a rich vein of deranged percussive thrash that we’ve not properly seen from them in years. All hail:
