Bedroom pop artist of some note Grimes, aka Claire Boucher, is set to release her new album Visions, her first for 4AD, next week. In advance of its release, she’s released a video for album track ‘Oblivion’, featuring boomboxes, sports, headphones and other such cultural ephemera. Watch it below (and watch out for London Olypmic ads playing beforehand, which dovetail rather neatly with the video’s visual cues)
We reviewed Visions last week, and said: "… on Visions she seems to have put those roots down in the sweet spot between hipster pop, pop-pop and underground music, a place so pure-sounding that you just don’t have to worry about where it sits in the scheme of things, any more than Boucher clearly does."
