The Stone Roses will reform for a summer tour, according to The Daily Mirror.
Rumours of a reunion have rumbled ever since the Manchester quartet split in 1996, but the newspaper claims Ian Brown and John Squire have set aside their differences and have plotted at least 21 money-spinning dates.
There’s also talk that the band, completed by bassist Mani and drummer Reni, will appear at this year’s Coachella Festival in California.
“It’s taken a lot of time to get Ian to agree but he’s finally signed on the dotted line,” a source is quoted as saying, in spite of Brown’s claims last year that there was “no chance” of a reunion in “the next three lifetimes”.
“The rest of the band were really up for it, especially when they realised the amount of money on the table.”
The band have already confirmed that they’ll be releasing a special 20th anniversary edition of their self-titled debut album, re-mastered by original producer John Leckie.
