Paste magazine recently banged its head against a wall until its IQ dipped enough for it to pass itself off as a tabloid.
This would explain why it decided to run a piece entitled Is Indie Dead?; the style of journalistic question usually reserved for such pressing topics as ‘Does margarine give you ebola?’ or ‘Is Elvis still alive?’
Flavorwire asked the Quietus to respond along with writers and editors from other publications such as Tiny Mix Tapes, Stereogum and such respected comment-mongers as Christopher Weingarten.
The responses are generally interesting and well-made but essentially Paste’s orgininal question can be answered with the word ‘no’. Here’s wishing the now online magazine a speedy recovery.
