Josephine Foster and the Victor Herrero Band have recorded a follow-up to their 2010 album of Spanish folk songs Anda Jaleo. Entitled Perlas, it’s set for release through Fire Records in May. It’s based around poems and songs found and chosen by Foster, sung to a backing of string instruments and recorded onto analogue tape in a studio in Santa Maria, Spain. In advance of Foster’s show at Counterflows festival this coming weekend, and a show at Counterflows Berlin next week, you can listen to a song from the album, ‘Sangre Colorada’, via the embed below.
