The Space have come to the end of their cataloguing of John Peel’s collection by artist name, taking 100 from under each letter of the alphabet – ‘Z’ is now online, and you can have a look here.
With pleasingly hirsute finality, Texas’s most prolific purveyors of facial follicles, ZZ Top, stake a claim of five albums in the list. Alongside them, there are the usual suspects – Frank Zappa, The Zombies, Warren Zevon – as well as Congolese soukous band Zaiko Langa Langa, 90s US psych-rockers, the well-named Zen Guerilla, and dub ensemble Zion Train.
