Musical heritage project Folklore Tapes are set to curate a two-night event, Lore Of The Land, at The Glad Cafe in Glasgow and at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh, on April 24 and 25 respectively.
The events will host Lancastrian alt-folk singer-songwriter Rob St. John’s release of 7" single ‘Charcoal Black and the Bonny Grey’, which he introduces as "motorik beats on a pommel horse, recorder and violin trills, group singing and rolling organ".
Also on the bill are: Iona Magnetic with their take on the Hebridean island of Iona’s folklore, a Devon witchcraft-based collaboration between Ian Humberstone and Malcolm Benzie, a presentation on the traditions of folk song and field recording from Tom Western, and music/projections from Folklore Tapes’ David Orphan.
