The last new material that arrived from Burial, the Street Halo EP, landed earlier this year in a swift release from his label Hyperdub. Last week, label boss Kode9 announced another new EP Kindred, though no details have yet surfaced as to the specifics of the release.
However, Scratcha DVA and Ikonika played a clip of a track from the new EP, entitled ‘Ashtray Wasp’, on the Hyperdub Rinse FM show last night. It sounds as you’d expect, and bodes well for the new EP – Burial gets better with each release by becoming more and more like Burial, not a statement it’s possible to make about many modern artists.
