Portland duo AU – Dana Valatka and Luke Wyland – have signed to Leeds-based imprint Leaf for the release of their upcoming new album Both Lights. The album is due for release next March, and will be preceded by a single ‘Solid Gold’, which will be released in January.
In the past AU has had something of a shapeshifting line-up, including members of Parenthetical Girls, Jackie O Motherfucker and more, but for the new album the band’s line-up has been stripped back to the core duo of Wyland and Valatka.
The ‘Solid Gold’ single continues in a similar vein to their previous work, a piece of complex spiralling psychedelic pop. The 7", due for release in January, also features an exclusive track ‘under/Epic’, which features Colin Stetson.
