I fucking love that album. I mean, what a stunning album? I hadn’t really gotten into the first few. I mean I knew track or two but then my God, this is up there. It feels like summer. I literally can play it ten times in a row, it’s just gorgeous. And that cover, she’s so morose and then she’s there grinning like a Cheshire cat, it’s madness. I really think of it as a sophomore moment for her. It’s gonna be very hard to beat.

I’ve done gigs with her but not met her. When you do gigs with huge American stars everybody keeps you away. They don’t hang. Rock bands hang but pop stars don’t hang, they shuffle. They get shuffled onstage, offstage, nobody sees them. But it’s back to that songwriting thing, the lyrics are stunning but it has the melodies and the groove. And the way that she managed to capture what was happening at the time, which was trap. But the way she made it, she made it hers. I think it’s quite difficult to do to do something that is trendy but do it in a way so it becomes classic. No one else could do it. And she’s anti-Trump, a girl after my own.
