9. Bill MorrisseyNorth

This is a record that my dad used to listen to when I was a kid. I don’t even know much about Bill Morrissey, I believe he passed away some years ago – I think he was quite a heavy alcoholic. I don’t know if any of that’s true, but I’m pretty sure that’s what I heard from my dad. I think he was from the North East somewhere in the United States, and I know my family lived in the state of Maine when I was really young, and I know my dad went and saw him perform a time or two. Some years ago, my dad passed on his vinyl collection to me, and that record, just once I’d put it on… it hit me. Again it’s kind of a quirky American folk artist that really just gets you. I think also because my father gave it to me, it has a special significance as well. I love this record.
