6. The BeatlesThe Beatles

Of course! I still know the number on my copy – 0506262. Or Mam and Dad’s copy I should say – I nicked them all. Dad just listens to CDs now, so I’m OK! I play all my records on a 1953 mahogany Pye Black box. I never consciously try to pick apart the Beatles’ eras and styles either, but this is them all together, isn’t it? Classical, blues, folk, and gentle, tender ballads. I adore ‘Dear Prudence’ more than anything. It’s just so beautiful. [laughs] What else can I say about them that’ll do them any justice? They always experimented. I think that’s enough!
