Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

10. Gino SoccioOutline

I discovered this record through DJ friends in my early twenties. I’m very proud to say it comes from Montreal. I’m a huge fan of Gino Soccio. I wish he was my uncle. I really relate to his music. It’s amazingly well-composed and produced. He worked with amazing singers, particuarly on ‘Dancer’ which is the single on the record. I love the positivity in the music. It’s so uplifting. Before being a musician, I’m a dancer, so I love this kind of disco music that really makes me want to dance. I’m not a snob about disco music.
