8. The Notorious BIGReady To Die

Now let’s get dirty! Biggie Smalls, one of my most-played albums and probably [to do with] the period I was in when it came out. Riding around L.A. pumping Biggie Smalls, it’s just… wow, dangerous! I always say to people if you want to know what I look like it would be Biggie Smalls. And I do really mean that because I have a big part of Biggie Smalls in me. Unlike Biggie, though, I don’t freestyle. Biggie freestyled all his lyrics, he never came in with a pencil or a pen. I really like that production, that period of production in murder rap, I think it’s really way deeper than it sounds. He predicted his death, he knew he was not long for this world. You play that game, you’re the best at what you do, and, you know, they’re gonna take you down. I just love that album. Murder rap is one of my favourite genres of music. I don’t think there’s any murder rap around at the moment, but maybe that’s me not being completely immersed in it.
