Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

6. The Velvet UndergroundThe Velvet Underground & Nico

It’s a total cliché but it really was the first record that made me want to play rock & roll rather than straightforward pop. I’d have been about 17 or 18 at the time. Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Mark Webber, Gang of Four, John Foxx, Echo & The Bunnymen, Morrissey
