This record was given to me by my uncle who was a big vinyl head. I was always a Bowie fan but there was something about David Bowie in the mid-70s and early 80s. He was going through a little bit of a transition there – especially the 80s part. So, when you hear this record, released in 1974, he touches base on that transition. He’s still playing songs like ‘Rebel Rebel’ and ‘Changes’ and is still weird with that strange haircut… but on the cover he’s wearing this fucking weird business suit as if the 80s aren’t too far around the corner. Listen to what David’s doing. Really listen. Listen to the drums. How they sound. Listen. What a great record and another one that made me feel.
