Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

VariousLe Jazz Non (A compilation Of Nineties NZ Noise)

This is an amazing compilation of New Zealand experimental music complied by Bruce Russell of The Dead C. I remember being really surprised at how delicate and fragile the noise from this country came across, I expected it to be like the more full-on approach of noise bands from the US and Japan. This compilations introduced me to bands like Surface Of The Earth, Rain, Gate, Omit and A Handful Of Dust. To me, this is true modern folk music.

Selected in other Baker’s Dozens: Lord Spikeheart, Tom Ravenscroft
