A new book compiling the cover art of the European glitter rock movement is being published.
Wired Up! is a 384 page-long compendium of sleeve art from the era, "where the flash, shock and outrageousness of the picture sleeve oftentimes proved just as important as the explosive sounds within". The book is being published on August 15 by Wired Up Media, and the first 500 copies will come with a 7" of prime glam rock, Hector’s ‘Wired Up’. The book is getting a launch party on September 21 at the Buffalo Bar, London. There’ll be live music from Giuda and Cyanide Pills and a host of DJs playing appropriately glittery glam, proto-punk and bubblegum singles – tickets are £4 advance and available here.
