This week Savages, the Quietus’ favourite new group, made an excursion to Salford to play inside a wooden cage at a sinister-sounding venue called The Fuhrer Bunker. Our writer John Freeman said "The whole thing was utterly, utterly incredible. Just sayin’…" and you can read a live review over at Louder Than War. At the gig Savages debuted a brand new song called ‘Shut Up’. Introducing it, singer Jehnny Beth says "we don’t even know how it goes so we’re going to figure it out with you. So I need lyrics because I can’t remember them." Nevertheless, it’s a corker, mid-paced and moody with killer industrial Bernard Butler guitar and typically excellent bass rumble.
