Damon Albarn says a Blur reunion is "very possible" following a reconciliatory lunch with Graham Coxon.
Reconciliatory lunches, eh? We’ve all been there.
Albarn told the BBC: "The truth be known, Graham and I have been hanging out together a bit. We had lunch the other day. It’s very possible I’ll go back to Blur, it really is very possible."
Blur went out to lunch – the non-reconciliatory kind – indefinitely following the release of 2003’s Think Tank album. Coxon quit the group in alleged acrimonious circumstances to pursue a solo career, while Albarn has enjoyed success with Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad & The Queen and his recent Monkey: Journey To The West stage collaboration.
Albarn added: "It’s fantastic to get my old friend back."
Meanwhile Babyshambles guitarist Adam Ficek has told XFM that Coxon has been involved with the forthcoming Pete Doherty solo album, after a Youtube clip of the pair performing Blur track ‘You’re So Great’ sparked rumours of a collaboration last month.
Ficek said: "It’s not just musical with Graham, it’s this whole sonic environment he creates and that’s what has brought a really special edge to Peter’s solo album…it’s really interesting."
