The UK singles chart, however, is not such happy reading for the brothers Gallagher, as The Shock of The Lightning slipped 13 places to number 16 as their ageing fanbase head out to buy the album.
Although Dig Out Your Soul is the group’s seventh album they have, rather fortunately in our opinion, rubbished talk of launching a Take That/Madness style musical.
Noel told the BBC that plans for the show, touted as being called Live Forever, were "Ludicrous".
