Watch Jilted John’s Big Chill Return

This weekend past The Quietus headed to the Big Chill to see Leonard Cohen play another rapturously received gig. But that wasn’t all! For as well as the gravelly-voiced master, pubescent punk bloke Jilted John reformed himself for his first gig in, um, a very long time.

For those of you unaware of Jilted John, he was created in 1978 by Graham Fellowes, who would go on to become the excellent cabaret singer and organ maestro John Shuttleworth. His debut single ‘Gordon Is A Moron’ reached No.4 in the Hit Parade, and was followed by an album called True Love Stories the same year.

Anyway, the Quietus had our crappy little digicam along, and filmed Jilted John performing his hit ‘Gordon Is A Moron’, which you can watch below. We like to think that our wobbly camera and cheap zoom is in fitting testiment to Jilted John’s rough and ready charms.
