Mogwai Guitarist Leaves Band

John Cummings leaves 'to pursue his own musical projects'

Longtime Mogwai guitarist John Cummings has left the band with a statement on their website explaining that Cummings โ€œdecided to leave Mogwai to pursue his own musical projects.โ€

The statement suggests that the band will continue as a quarter with two musicians set to join them for upcoming live shows. โ€œWe wish John all the best with the future,โ€ the statement concludes. Cummings joined Mogwai in 1995 as the fourth member of the band. The band recently released a three-disc compilation, entitled Central Belters, to mark their 20th anniversary.
