Metallica will reunite with former bassist Jason Newsted as the band are inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame on April 4th.
Kirk Hammet confirmed the old line-up will perform together "at one point".
The band wanted to avoid putting a "sour note" on the night by letting any past politics or drama get in the way of their celebration.
Hammet mentioned their decision stemmed from being there when Blondie were inducted in 2006, but were unable to perform on the night, due to Debbie Harry’s refusal to participate. "We don’t want any of that", he said.
