Nottingham-based label MIMM Recordings have made some impressive moves in the last year, especially with Spam Chop’s Cuckup EP, which we reviewed and described as "refus[ing] to sit still, itchily shifting angle of attack every eight bars (an approach that subtly betrays the influence of grime), and beset at every turn by lovely, fleeting music box melodies."
Now the label – based out of the shop of the same name and associated with fellow Nottingham residents such as Geiom and the Wigflex collective – are giving away a free EP to download containing music by new signings to the label, including crisp synthetic garage from Lyka, crushing electronic hip-hop by Metske and abrasive house and techno by Quantize and Worm.
